PSY215 Abnormal Behavior

Instructions for Final Paper

You are asked to research and review a minimum of three (3) articles on a disorder described in the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5 (DSM-5). This is available from the SNHU library, both on campus and online.

You are to briefly describe the disorder in a page or less and then discuss the most current treatment findings from articles in peer-reviewed journals. Your paper should include

• a brief description of the disorder (between a half page and a full page), including information on how many people (or what percentage of people) have the disorder in this country
• the most current available information on effective forms of therapy, including information on why that particular form of therapy seems to work
• the most current available information on effective medications, including information on how the medication acts on the brain

Present a synthesis of the information (4 – 5 pages, not including the title and reference pages).

The paper must be written in APA format, with a Title Page and a Works Cited page. NO ABSTRACT, as abstracts are not necessary for very short papers.
