In the following scenario, please discuss the issue of Noise Induced Hearing Loss associated with workplace exposure.  A 50 year-old construction worker at your company has suffered hearing loss, but would like to remain on the job.  Explain briefly how he could have lost hearing, due to exposure in the workplace and outside of the workplace (including in your discussion why it is difficult to determine the cause), and identify common symptoms and effects . To protect the safety of the employee and his co-workers, what factors should be considered in basing a decision on whether he should continue to work?  Provide a scholarly basis for your response.
