the Workbook is a take home assessment item. Students will be required to provide responses to each question in relation to the Unit topics. The questions require short answer responses with a minimum 200 word limit and maximum 300 word limit per question.
You will be assessed on the following criteria:
Research – background research and presentation of your research which supports the opinions and points you make in the presentation
Critical analysis – your analysis of the subject and depth of understanding
Learning – whether this topic you’ve chosen has supported your learning and that is evident in your presentation
Referencing Style – correct use of an accepted referencing style, such as Harvard, APA or other accepted styles. Please indicate on the assignment coversheet.

Part 1: Workbook on Indigenous Contemporary Issues
The Workbook is a take home assessment item. Students will be required to provide responses to each question in relation to the Unit topics. This task is to assess how you understand the topic and your ability to concisely communicate your perceptions of its theme/s. The questions require short answer responses with a minimum of 200 words and maximum of 300 words per question.

2. Provide a definition of ‘Indigeneity’ which includes the diversity of Indigenous Australian peoples.
3. Cultural Heritage contains which two themes defined by the United Nations? Explain their importance to saving cultural heritage.
4. Select one major mining site presented in the lecture. What is its impact on the Aboriginal traditional owners?
5. Concisely explain the importance of teaching traditional Aboriginal languages to Indigenous youth today.
