Internship Executive Summary
$5.00Instructions : An executive summary is a stand alone document that is used to highlight key components of a larger report or proposal. Executive summaries are designed to inform top management and executives of key elements in which they should be able to make an informed decision without reading the entire document. For your internship project assignment, I want you to write an executive summary of key elements of your internship project. Executive summaries should be 1-3 pages. If you were writing this executive summary for the CEO of the organization, what would you want him or her to know to make a decision about your project? Below are some examples of key elements you might include but you are not limited to this list.
Key elements include:
Purpose of the project – What was the significance of the project and why was it important?
Methods used – How did you do the project? (Did you interview, did you use secondary data to analyze outcomes, etc.)
Impact to the organization – How does this help the organization? What were the results?
Recommendations – Based on the internship project, do you have any recommendations to the organization to continue it or to improve it? This is where you can address challenges too and how you recommend overcoming them in the future.I was doing my internship at Florida hospital cancer institute of Kissimmee, working in medical records as administrative assistance , attending tumor labs, purchasing publications for the facility etc.
Dealing with Disruptive physician situation
$5.00Now that you have things under control and the staff is beginning to understand your style and your capabilities, they come to you, at their wits end because of a disruptive physician. They tell you that he is demanding and dismissive. He has been known to “fly off the handle” at the littlest things. One day, he found out by opening the supply cabinet that his favorite pens were out of stock. He proceeded to berate the Front Desk staff in front of other staff and patients.
According to the staff, his terrible behavior continues—now that you are there, the staff has reported that if something is not done, they will all quit. By the way, he is one of the favorites from the patient’s point of view! I need a two page paper telling me all of the steps you are going to take to deal with this issue…firing him on the spot is not an option!!! Remember…from your job description…part of your responsibilities include being the HR manager. Do not restate the issue in your submission. Please submit your Microsoft Word Document
Clinic’s Social Media Policy
$5.00Over the past few weeks, you have become more familiar with your staff and are beginning to feel like part of their family. To that end, you have recently accepted some “friend requests” on Facebook from some of the staff. You were at home last night, getting caught up on Facebook when you came across a post from one of the employees that said:
” I hate my new boss at the clinic. A power hungry jerk making too many changes and there are way too many rules. It’s not fun to work there anymore. I hope they don’t last, or I hope I find another job soon. I do not know how much more of this I can take”!!
You did not sleep well, to say the least, and now you need to decide what to do about this. Some things to consider:
- Should you have accepted the friend request in the first place? Why or why not?
- Remember, you are not in a co-worker relationship with this person, you are in a supervisor-subordinate relationship.
- Should you remain friends on social media?
- Can we initiate disciplinary action on this employee?
- Based on this, the Board of Trustees wants us to establish a Social Medial Policy. Can we do this? If so, I need you to provide me with a draft Social Media Policy.
This document should be submitted in Microsoft Word and no longer than 2 Pages (including your draft policy).
Policy Regarding Late Arrivals
$5.00Just as you were trying to get a handle on the week’s events, and hoping for a relatively quiet day, one of your front desk staff calls you. The issue here is that a Patient has arrived and they are late for their appointment. They are pleading with your front desk clerk, stating that they had a flat tire and their cell phone battery died…they could not call. The patient wants to speak to the boss.
Our clinic policy states that if more than 50% of the appointment time has elapsed, the patient will not be seen. 10 minutes of the 20 minute appointment has elapsed. What do you see as your options in this case? What is your decision here? How do we ensure that the patients are familiar with our policy regarding late arrivals? What staff did you interact with? Did you interact with the patient? What was the outcome?
Highly influential member of the community with Syphilis
$5.00This week you discovered that test results for a highly recognizable/highly influential member of the community came back positive for Syphilis. Our Lab Technician as well as the Physician of record decided not to do anything or say anything in an attempt to protect the patient. Are there mandatory reporting requirements that we have?
Are we required to report to the CDC (Center for Disease Control)? Are we required to report to the Florida Department of Health? If so, what is the administrative law that governs this? Do I need to be aware of any other laws? Please tell me about any forms that should have been filled out. Which of our employees was responsible for the state reporting piece? What rights does the patient have in this process?
Both the lab tech and physician are top performers for us. What HR action (if any) will you take regarding the way they handled this situation?
A one to two page information/summary document in appropriate paragraph format, using Microsoft Word (1.5 line spacing and Times New Roman 12) will be sufficient for this scenario. Do not restate the issue here, I just need to know what information is required for situations like this. Please list your references.
